A dramatic small garden, by designer Philip Hirst
Designer Phil Hirst took on this project in 2020. Set in the Peak District, Phil took his inspiration from the local topgraphy. with its well known sandstone outcrop ‘edges’. The brief was to connect the separate areas of the garden, especially a recently installed summerhouse/office, and he did this by reducing the length of a retaining wall. and replacing with a more naturalistic planted rockery.
As the house looked down on the garden, it was important to ensure that the design worked well when viewed from above. The breath-taking surrounding landscape also adds to the beauty of the design.
