A south facing front garden
In 2016, Sarah Morgan won the RHS competition to design a Feel Good Front Garden and her winning design was shown at Hampton Court. When Sarah and her family moved into the 1960’s house, accessed only by a footpath, she set about re-designing the front garden. She put structure and shape into the garden, whilst keeping its magical, wild feel and not disturbing the wildlife too much. She kept the planting soft, using grasses such as stipa and calamagrostis, offsetting the angular shape of the house. “I love to mix hard materials with the ethereal planting so there is rusted steel and metal in the garden used as sculpture as well as a landscaping material”.
