erythroniums at greencombe gardens
Greencombe Gardens, situated alongside the wooden slopes overlooking the Bristol Channel, fell in to the care of plantswoman Joan Loraine in 1966. She made it her mission to collect rare erythroniums and cultivate them in the woodland garden. The National Collection includes several cultivars named by Joan, including one that she gave the name of her mother, ‘Winifred Loraine’.
